I have loved dogs my entire life. My aunt and uncle raised German Shepherds. Over the years my family has owned a German Shepherd, Sheltie and an All American Dog. The first dog I purchased was a Golden Retriever, Ginger, who brought me into the world of obedience. Ginger was a handful as a youngster, so I signed up for my first obedience class and was hooked. I didn't decide to show until I went to a local show and sat down to watch obedience. The class that caught my eye was Utility. At that point I decided that I could teach Ginger all the very "neat" tricks. I entered my first obedience trial in May of 1991 and I had the showing bug. Over the years I have been able to put obedience, agility, hunting and rally titles on my dogs. My first true competition obedience dog was Haley (Am/Can. OTCh. Sunfire's Blazing Comet UDX2 JH WC GRCA ODHF). Haley placed 6th in a tournament and won many High In Trials during her obedience career. Haley was bred once to Rocky (OTCh. Stardust Rainier Rocky OS), which produced one puppy, Spencer (Rustic's Lone Gunner UDX RE JH MX MXJ NAP NJP Can. CDX GRCA CCA VCX). Spencer's true love is agility. Parker (Am/Can. Ch. Cobrador Rustic DidUHearThat Am/ASCA CDX RE) is currently working towards his UD. My two younger boys, Buzz, my Aussie (Howlyn Rustic Live Wire RN) is currently working towards his American Championship (owner-handled) and training for obedience. Ernie (Evergreen's Rustic The Big E-Z) is my younger Golden and is just starting out his obedience training. Over the years I have traveled to many places and met a lot of wonderful people. Without the dogs, I would not have done this.
